Ways We Pledge to Protect the Environment

Earth Day is a reminder. Not just of what's at stake, but of what's possible when communities, businesses, and individuals commit to doing better. At Northwest Cannabis Company, environmental responsibility isn't a seasonal initiative. It's woven into how we operate, who we partner with, and which brands we choose to carry.

Here is how we show up for the Pacific Northwest all year long.

Our Partnership with Tualatin Riverkeepers

At the heart of our environmental commitment is our ongoing partnership with the Tualatin Riverkeepers, a local nonprofit dedicated to protecting and restoring the Tualatin River watershed.

The Tualatin River flows nearly 80 miles through Washington County, supporting local wildlife, fueling recreation, and sustaining the natural beauty of the communities we call home. Northwest Cannabis Company donates a portion of our sales to support Tualatin Riverkeepers' work in watershed stewardship, advocacy, restoration, access, and education.

This is not a one-time donation or a logo placement. It is a long-term commitment to the land that sustains us.

Choosing Brands That Share Our Values

One of the most meaningful ways a dispensary can support environmental sustainability is through the brands it chooses to carry. At Northwest Cannabis Company, we are proud to stock a growing number of Oregon producers who prioritize clean, responsible cultivation and processing practices.

Ananda Farms: Clean Green Certified, a program modeled on organic, sustainable, and regenerative agricultural standards.

Benson Arbor: Focuses on clean, solventless extraction methods with an emphasis on high-quality, minimal-input processing.

Decibel Farms: A producer and processor of sustainably grown cannabis products, with some flower described as organically grown.

Deep Creek Gardens: Clean Green Certified and cultivated in living soil using regenerative farming methods.

East Fork Cultivars: Sun+Earth Certified, sun-grown, and CBD-rich. East Fork focuses on living soil, biodiversity, and a closed-loop farming system.

Echo Electuary: Uses full-spectrum, minimally processed extraction methods with a focus on natural inputs and preservation of plant integrity.

Güd Gardens: Clean Green Certified. Their property has been developed into a sustainable homestead alongside their cannabis farm.

Higher Cultures: Small-batch cultivation with an emphasis on low-impact growing techniques and environmentally conscious practices.

Millerville Farms: Traditionally cultivated and Clean Green Certified.

Oregrown: Their Central Oregon farm uses snowmelt aquifer water, sun-grown cultivation, and biodiversity-supporting companion plants including clover, alyssum, poppies, and cosmos. A holistic approach to sustainable farming.

Siskiyou Sungrown: A Southern Oregon producer dedicated to regenerative farming and organic cane alcohol extractions.

Verdant Leaf Farms: Clean Green Certified with a strong emphasis on organic practices and sustainable growing methods.

Wyld: The first cannabis family of brands to earn Climate Neutral Certification. Wyld uses natural ingredients, supports watershed restoration, and is actively transitioning to compostable packaging.

Why It Matters

The cannabis industry has a real opportunity to lead on environmental responsibility. From soil health and water usage to packaging waste and carbon footprint, the choices made at every level of the supply chain add up.

At Northwest Cannabis Company, we believe that shopping local, supporting certified growers, and partnering with organizations like Tualatin Riverkeepers are all part of the same commitment. Every purchase you make here supports not just quality cannabis, but a model of business that takes the health of this region seriously.

How You Can Get Involved

Environmental stewardship is a community effort. Here are a few ways to take action beyond the store:

Volunteer with Tualatin Riverkeepers at a restoration or cleanup event. Explore their upcoming programs at tualatinriverkeepers.org.

Choose sustainably certified products when you shop. Ask our budtenders which brands carry environmental certifications and what they mean.

Reduce packaging waste by bringing a reusable bag when you visit us in store.

Rooted in the Northwest. Committed to Keeping It That Way.

Earth Day comes once a year. Our commitment to this place runs deeper than a single date on the calendar. From the brands on our shelves to the organizations we invest in, Northwest Cannabis Company is proud to be a business that believes taking care of our community and taking care of our environment are one and the same.
